FAQs

Do I need a tune?

Generally speaking, you can always pick up more horsepower and torque with a tune even with everything stock. However, since the throttle body is tailored to your setup, there should be plenty of headroom in your OEM fuel trim tables to compensate for the additional air. In fact in most cases you can add an exhaust and intake without running the risk of leaning out the fuel system.

Why are these so expensive?

Expense is a subjective term. Making these throttle bodies is a collaborative effort between myself, my powder coater and my hardware supplier. Most aftermarket throttle bodies are off the shelf and sold en masse. Every throttle body shipped from this workshop is formed, shaped, finished, assembled and quality checked by hand for you and you alone. This makes each one unique and high quality.

How long does it take before my order is shipped?

Good question! Glad you asked. Since each throttle body starts with a blueprint and an OEM core, it takes some time. Typically people will wait a few weeks to receive their piece. The reason it takes so long is because each piece is made by hand and there is incredible attention to detail. But, dont worry. You're provided with updates during every step of the process and have 24/7 access via site chat or whatsapp for any questions or update requests.

How much horsepower will I gain from an aftermarket throttle body?

Without a dyno session, any number given would be a guesstimate. Even a temperature/elevation difference can change that overall number. You'll need to hit up a dyno for that information. However, any aftermarket throttle body can only add so much power. The takeaway is that one of these will completely transform the way your car responds and accelerates for the better. A more enjoyable project car is one that is built with the driver in mind.

Why not one size for every setup?

If all engines operated on the same volumetric efficiency level and had the same displacement, this would be fine. However, a 3.5 liter DOHC v6 engine and a 1.5 liter SOHC inline 4 cylinder will process air in vastly different quantities. When it comes right down to it, what works for one engine might be entirely too large for another engine and vice versa. The consequences may not be life altering, but, can simply be a waste of fuel, dramatic loss of response for no tradeoff and in some cases even a loss of both horsepower and drivability.
